Pianomouse.com, an Internet software company, was founded in January 2000. Computer technology and the growth of the Internet are influencing every aspect of daily life, including how our children learn. Pianomouse.com is committed to producing the highest quality music education software. At a time when there are so many activities competing for our children's attention, Pianomouse.com is pursuing a fresh approach in passing the appreciation for classical music to the Internet generation. Recent university studies confirm that the study of music not only enriches a child's life, but also enhances the child's academic performance. Music education helps a child develop the abstract reasoning skills necessary to excel in math and science.

We have created the characters, Pianomouse, Clara and Puccini as a means to capture children's attention by making music education a fun experience. The Pianomouse character was created to inspire children in their study of music theory and history. His friend, Clara, a concert violinist mouse, was named after Clara Schumann. Puccini, the opera-singing cat from Milan, is named after the famous Giacomo Puccini who is known for composing many of the great operas.

Pianomouse.com recently released "Music Theory FUNdamentals-Preparatory Level" and "Pianomouse Meets the Great Composers-Volume I". These CD-ROMs are first in a series of music education software published by Pianomouse.com. Additional titles are currently in production and will be released in Spring 2001.

Most music education software currently on the market is expensive. We at Pianomouse.com are committed in providing every child with affordable, high quality music education software. We believe that music students will find our software to be an exceptional value.

MEET THE CREATOR

Pianomouse.com was founded by Kathleen Thyberg.  Kathleen has taught piano for over twenty five years. In 1982, she graduated from Scripps College, where she majored in music with an emphasis on piano performance. Her senior thesis focused on teaching music appreciation to young children.

Kathleen has developed a music lab for her piano students which includes the study of composers, ear training, and music theory.  She was inspired to create Pianomouse.com as a means of sharing her love for music with the Internet generation. It is Kathleen's desire that children who use her software will develop an appreciation for music and have fun.

Kathleen resides in Southern California with her husband and four sons.
